Obituary for Arlie L. Page

Arlie L. Page, age 88, of McHenry, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Valley Hi Nursing Home in Hartland Township.

He was born December 17, 1929 in Sesser, Illinois to Arlie P. and Myrtle (Mezo) Page. On October 2, 1954, he married Dolores Tatera in Chicago.

Prior to retirement, Arlie served as Chief of Police for the Villages of Buffalo Grove and Willow Springs. He later worked as a security executive for Richard Duchossois, founder and Chairman of The Duchossois Group, Inc., a company that is known for its ownership stakes in Arlington Park and Churchill Downs race tracks, as well as for rail car and defense manufacturing.

Arlie proudly served his country as a member of the U. S. Army. In recent years, he readily volunteered with the American Legion Post 491 & V.F.W. Post 4600 to lead a “Poppy Ceremony” at many funeral services for our area veterans.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dolores; three sons, Ron Page, Larry (Debbie) Page, and Jim (Robin Berry) Page; 7 grandchildren, Ashley Page, Carrie (Page) Waldmann, Daniel Page, Heather Page, Jacob Page, Patrick Page, and Shelby Page; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be from noon until 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050. At. 1 p.m., members of the American Legion and V.F.W. Posts will lead a Poppy Ceremony in honor of Arlie.

Inurnment will follow in Woodland Cemetery in McHenry.
