In Loving Memory Muriel Jean Benoy 11/2/1930 - 1/24/2010

Muriel J. Benoy, age 79, of Zion and formerly of McHenry, died January 24, 2010 at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan.

She was born November 2, 1930 in Woodstock to Bruno and Mary E. (Smith) Butler. On October 2, 1948 she married Alvin N. Benoy in Ringwood.

Muriel was a long time resident of McHenry since 1952 until moving to Zion with her husband in 2001. She and her husband were summer residents of Shawano,WI..

A homemaker the majority of her life, Muriel had been a valued employee at the Fabric Shop in Crystal Lake. She loved to sew, enjoyed gardening and was a doting grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in McHenry.

She is survived by three Children, Peter (Patricia) Benoy of Columbia, IL., Barbara (Michael Sirles) Benoy of Zion, Jody (Mark) Henricks of Oak Creek, WI.; six grandchildren, Benjamin Benoy, Genevieve (Jose') Olucha, Jesse (Leigh) Wood, Jori Wood, Lindsey Henricks, Emma Henricks; four great grandchildren, Zachary, Joseph, Paylin, Liliana; and a sister Helen Ruth (the late Lewis) Pittman of Spring Valley, WI.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin N. Benoy, August 4, 2007; a daughter, Lisa Benoy, January 20, 2001; and her parents.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, at the funeral home. The Rev. Gary Waters will officiate.

Inurnment will be in Ringwood Cemetery, Ringwood.
