In Loving Memory Walter H. Pissowotzki 4/19/1952 - 1/25/2010

Walter H. Pissowotzki, age 89, of McHenry, died Sunday, January 25, 2010 at his home.

Born in Germany to Johann and Marie (Konstanti) Pihsowotzki, he married Inge Weber on April 19, 1952 in Germany.

In 1956, they immigrated to the United States and settled in this area. Since 1986, they have been residents of the Whispering Oaks subdivision in McHenry.

From 1971 until retirement in 1983, Walter worked as a cabinet maker at Imperial Woodworking in Palatine.

He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in McHenry.  An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed taking his dog for walks and visiting with his neighbors while out on walks.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Inge; a son, Kurt Schreiber of McHenry; three grandchildren, Trinity, Kurtis, and Katie; a sister, Irmgard Mattheus; 3 nephews and a niece.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kurt and Heinz; and a sister, Ruth.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green Street, McHenry. Friends may visit with his family from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Inurnment will be private.

Memorials are suggested by his family to either Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 410 S. Hager Avenue, Barrington, IL 60010, or to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, specify Organ Fund.
