Donna Jeanne Huber (nee Teeters), a resident of Round Lake for most of her 62 years, passed away in her home on Saturday, February 6, 2010 following several months of battling Leukemia.
Donna was born in Waukegan on April 27, 1947 to James and Vivian Teeters who still reside in Round Lake.
Donna is also survived by her loving husband Charles, sons David and Christopher, daughters-in-law Laura and Michelle, grandchildren Olivia, Logan and Cameron, and her siblings James, William and Pamela. Donna was adored by countless friends and family.
She had a wonderful sense of humor, a giving nature, and a natural talent for music. While growing up in Round Lake, Donna was involved in drama, singing and instrumental music. After joining the Round Lake Community Band in the early 80's, Donna eventually taught herself to play flute, often playing and singing in church services. In addition, Donna taught herself how to play tenor saxophone and went on to play and sing lead in local Blues bands such as "Grease," "The After Hours Blues Band," "Now and Then," "The 3rd Degree" and "Night Moves."
A valued and loyal employee, Donna worked for 20 years at the law firm of Churchill, Baumgartner and Phillips in Grayslake, and most recently worked for almost 20 years at the law firm of O'Halloran, Kosoff, Geitner and Cook in Northbrook. Family and friendships were very dear to Donna; she was a devoted wife and daughter, a wonderful mother and grandmother, and maintained friendships that went all the way back to childhood.
A viewing for Donna will be at Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home (222 N. Rosedale Ct. in Round Lake) on Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Visitation will resume on Thursday, February 11 at 9 a.m. at St. Pul the Apostle Church. A funeral Mass will take place at St. Paul the Apostle Church (6401 Gages Lake Road, Gurnee) at 10 a.m. with an Interment immediately following at Ascension Catholic Cemetery (1920 Buckley Rd, Libertyville).
Donna will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her. Flowers are appreciated, but the family would be equally grateful for a donation to the American Cancer Society in her name as an alternative.
