Nancy E. Henn, age 58, of Johnsburg, died Friday, June 11, 2010 at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington.

She was born June 18, 1951 in Breese, Illinois to Glenn L. and Virginia (Seiffert) Henn.

Nancy was born in Breese and raised in Carlyle, Illinois. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. She taught second grade at Lotus School on Grass Lake Road for many years and was very dedicated to all her students. During her tenure there she went back to school at Northern Illinois University for her Masters Degree and her certificate for Reading Specialist. She was also a member of the Reading Council.

Nancy was a world traveler with a special interest in visiting light houses on both the west and east coasts. She was a nature lover, and volunteered as a tour guide at the Volo Bog, and also for McHenry Animal Outreach. She also supported many charities and was devoted to her two cats Layla and Nelson.

Survivors include her father, Glenn L. Henn of Omaha, NE; a sister Mary J. (Don) Murray of Omaha, NE; nephews, Keith and David Murray; her extended family and special friend Diana Olson of Spring Grove.

She was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Henn.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 Charles Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050.

The funeral service will be at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, at the funeral home with the Rev. Lisle Kauffman officiating.

Inurnment will be private.
