In Loving Memory Elmer Joseph Dombrowski 4/3/1926 - 6/12/2010

Elmer Joseph Dombrowski, age 84, of McHenry, died Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Clement J. Zablocki V.A. Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He was born April 3, 1926 in Chicago to John and Helen (Szplit) Dombrowski. On February 3, 1973 he married Edna (Milewski) Thelen at St. Patrick Church in McHenry.

He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Elmer had been a resident of McHenry for the past 37 years. He was employed as a buyer for Oaks Manufacturing in Crystal Lake for 40 years. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and an active member of the McHenry American Legion Post 491.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing in Canada and Wisconsin’s Mitten Lake area. Elmer was a doting grandfather.

Survivors include his wife Edna of thirty-seven years; step-son Jeffrey (Becky) Thelen of Lake Zurich, step-daughter, Christine (Glenn) Pleiness of St. Clara Shores, MI.; grandchildren, Amy (Jon) Richter, Lauri (Jeff) Barnard, Jessica Thelen, Abigail Thelen, Olivia Thelen; great grandchildren, MacKenzie, J.B., Grace, Lilah; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Daniel and Leonard; and two sisters, Loretta, Isabelle.

Friends may visit with the family from 1:30 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral Mass on Friday, June 18, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 3500 W. Washington, McHenry, IL 60050.

Inurnment will be private.
