Constance P. Catanzaro, age 77, of Holiday Hills, died unexpectedly on Sunday June 13, 2010 surrounded by her seven daughters and her husband of 56 years, Joseph.

Connie was born on January 26, 1933 in Chicago to Thomas Francis and Elizabeth (O’Keefe) Parker. On May 29, 1954 she married Joseph G. Catanzaro, Jr. at St. Simeon’s Catholic Church in Bellwood. They settled in McHenry where they have lived the last 54 years and together raised seven daughters.

Constance was educated at St. Thomas Aquinas Grade School in Chicago and Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst. She worked at Bell Savings, Associated Agencies, State Farm Insurance Company and Jim Beam Brands Company before retiring in 1998. While raising her daughters, Connie was a home & school parent at St. Patrick’s School, a Brownie leader for many years, an avid reader whose bedside was littered with books, and a great lover of all sports but especially the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph; seven daughters, Linda (David) Boberg, Mary Kay Catanzaro, Deborah (Christopher) Hansen, Jeanne (the late Roger) Lindaur, Angela (Dale) Daugherty, Roseanne (Steven) Niese, Connie Catanzaro; ten grandchildren, Daniel Boberg, Patrick (Marieta) Boberg, Meg Boberg, Elizabeth Lindaur, Alex, Nate and Leah Daugherty, Samantha, Scott and Will Niese; a sister, Liz Jaffe; and a brother Tom Parker and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Jerry.

Family members will welcome friends and neighbors from 10 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010 until the Mass celebrating her life at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1401 N. Richmond Road, McHenry, IL 60050.

Inurnment will be private.

For those wishing to send an expression of condolence, the family suggests memorials in Connie’s memory to your local library to encourage her love of reading for others or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8430 W.
