Ronald S. Kurzeja, age 66, of Crystal Lake, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
He was born August 14, 1943 in Chicago to Stanley Kurzeja and Josephine (Bovelli) Kurzeja.
A resident of Crystal Lake for the past three years, he formerly lived in Algonquin.
Ron was employed by American Airlines in Ramp and Customer Service for over 30 years, and worked his entire career at O’Hare International Airport. Early in his career with the airlines, he also owned an Auto Body Shop, which he later sold to devote his time to his airlines duties.
Family was most important to Ron, as shown by his dedication to family gatherings and reunions. Boating was a favorite pastime, and he enjoyed doing carpentry, repairing and maintaining his home, and working on engines.
He is survived by two sons, Michael (Tracy) Kurzeja of Lake In The Hills, and Mark (Dawn) Kurzeja of Streamwood; his mother, Josephine Kurzeja of Barrington Hills; two brothers, Wayne (Mary Lou) Kurzeja of Barrington Hills, and Gary (Christy) Kurzeja of Barrington. He is also survived by four nieces, Cassie, Bessie, Joelle, and Sheryl, and a nephew, Sam; and two great nephews, Alex and Andrew, and a great niece, Abby.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley.
Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM, Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Rd., McHenry. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Thursday from 8:30 AM until 9:15 AM, when prayers are said prior to leaving for the 10 AM funeral Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5006 East Wonder Lake Road, Wonder Lake, IL 60097. The Rev. Steven M. Sabo will officiate.
Interment will be at Christ The King Cemetery in Wonder Lake.
