In Loving Memory Lawrence Z. Deja 9/2/1928 - 7/14/2010

Lawrence Z. Deja, age 81, of McHenry, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Centegra Hospital - McHenry.

He was born September 2, 1928 in Chicago to Leo and Stella (Skowron) Deja. On July 19, 1952 he married Mary Catherine Palm at St. Francis Borgia Church in Chicago.

Larry was a longtime resident of McHenry for over 60 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.

He was a civilian employee of the 9th Naval District at Great Lakes as an electronic technician for over 25 years.

Larry enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Mary Catherine of 58 years; five children, Mary Frances (Gary) Starr of Algonquin, Mary Ellen (Michael) Mitchell of Milwaukee, Mary Jean Deja of McHenry, Lawrence D. Deja of McHenry, Dennis L. Deja of McHenry; five grandchildren, Megan, Gregory, Mason, Melissa, Morgan; and four great grandchildren, Spencer, Sophia, Mia, and McKenna.

He was preceded in death by a son Daniel; a granddaughter, Courtney; his parents; and a sister, Patricia Deja.

Friends and neighbors may greet the family from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010 at The Church of Holy Apostles, 5211 W. Bull Valley Road, McHenry, IL 60050.

Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Countryside Cemetery, McHenry.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to F.I.S.H., P. O. Box 282, McHenry, IL 60050.
