In Loving Memory Dawnel R. Nolan 9/21/1966 - 7/20/2010

Dawnel R. Nolan, age 43, of Woodstock, died July 19, 2010 at Centegra Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock, after a courageous seven year battle with cancer.

She was born September 21, 1966 in Elgin to Kenneth Ray and Sandra L. (Linders) DeGraw. On June 29, 1996, she married Richard Nolan in Woodstock.

Raised and educated in Woodstock, Dawnel was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She treasured time spent with her family, as well as continued friendships with former classmates from high school. Other enjoyments included crafts, shopping, flowers, and collecting dolls, stamps, and coins.

Dawnel is survived by her husband of 14 years, Richard; two daughters, Lindsay Garmon and Amanda Nolan; her parents, Ken and Sandy DeGraw; a sister, Dana (Ken) Pedersen of Woodstock; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wendy and Scott Becker of Crystal Lake; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bill and Carol Nolan of Woodstock; a niece and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mildred DiPirro; and her paternal grandparents, Viola and Dayton DeGraw.

The cremation rite will be accorded privately.

Friends may visit with her family at an open house celebrating Dawnel’s life on Sunday, August 1, from noon until 5 p.m. at the Harvard Sportsmen’s Club. 

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorials be directed to the family for Lindsay’s and Amanda’s educational needs.
